Worked for a company which the founders had written into the constitution 100 years ago that the priorities were staff, customers then shareholders. The company I was referring to is in Australia. This happened in the early nineteen nineties. Has not done them a lot of good as they are following metrics which have resulted in the business shrinking due to short term decisions. You are thinking of the John Lewis departments stores here in the U.K. which the founder gifted to the employees in his will. Business is still owned by the employees today. There was an attempt by outsiders to buy it about 15 years ago but the employees were able to fight them off
