the Vic Chief of Police said the truck driver had a medical episode.
Is there a rule in Vic to slow to 40kph when seeing flashing lights ie police cars??
It always scares me when i see those high intensity police lights...from a distance you really can't tell where they actually are and on closing they simply blind your vision.
Really sad situation no matter who's fault it is....
Yes the truck driver had an episode after the accident not before. Most likely in response to a huge adrenalin rush after the event.
How many times do we see this - a truck cleaning up vehicles parked in the breakdown lanes or collecting vehicles stopped at roadworks etc.
Try driving on the M7 in Sydney as see how professional our "professional drivers" are.
well they cant rule out before until they have spoken to the truck driver.
in the briefing earlier, the chief said the truck had been in the emergency lane for a bit (didnt state exactly how long) and the truck hit the cars at about 100. im speculating that the driver blacked out beforehand, hence the being in the wrong lane and no braking. could be completely wrong. a tragedy either way
