We had our driveway dawn service, neighbours were out as well.

We had the Dawn service in our driveway as did quite a few others in the street while watching the sunrise.
It was definetly different but cool with the Kookaburras and Magpies singing as the same time.
Our Daughter and myself decorated our driveway and the Australian flag is hanging from the garage door for today as she is so proud to be giving something back in the way of respect for our ANZACs.

If you watch afl.com.au, or possibly on Channel 7 in some areas, at 1pm today my friend John Mansfield will be shown realising an ambition by playing The Last Post at the MCG, recorded in an empty stadium earlier this week. He is a brilliant bugler so it will be moving.
I didn't hear a thing this morning - I'm told there was quite a cacophony of sounds for ANZAC Day.
I didn't realise it was ANZAC Day until I spoke with a neighbour's partner about the neighbour's photos of him in Afghanistan that are attached to his letterbox.
Dad's brothers were soldiers but Dad had lost an eye when he was 10. He went to Darwin after the bombing as part of the Civil Construction Corps. Australia under attack | The Australian War Memorial
Dad's brothers all returned from overseas.

RIP Bucko - Riding on Forever
We stood on our deck and played the last post from the Canberra War Memorial service.
One other in the street was Justin , an ex navy diver with PTSD.
My Maternal grandfather and uncle served in France in WW1 and got the flu but lived and said uncle then served on HMAS Arunta in WW2.
Dad was old as born in 1899 so served at Wallangarra for over 8 years . His uncle was in NSW Regiment and served in South Africa and China to relieve Beijing.
SWMBO father served at Horn island and died of ulcers. Her mother made ammunition at Rocklea.

Who knew that 200 Chinese-Australian Diggers signed up to fight for us in WW1, or that 46 of them are buried at Gallipoli and in France? I certainly didn't. Fascinating.
