Not Drug related but Murder related. No really.

When we bought this property after a contract fell through the guy was in gaol.
The guy employed an old local bloke to handyman around his property & he lived on his property.

As time went on the old bloke's mates noticed he hadn't been seen for some weeks at the local Pub & started asking questions.

Nope, nobody had seen him including the bloke who employed him. More time went by & the cops, based on information received, decided to carry out a search of the employer's property.

He was eventually found dead under a pile of branches & rubbish. Cops took the employer away, it went to trial & the bloke apparently got Life in Yatala Prison.

Turns out the guy insured the dead bloke for a heap of cash & did him in & the employer's missus grassed him up to the cops.

The bloke was a builder & had made grand plans for this house which fortunately fell through, which included a lot of demolition work of the original turn of the circa 1900 local sandstone bungalow. The owners at the time actually returned his Deposit & another property he wanted to purchase also fell through over incorrect boundary issues.

    Talk about bad luck!

We are just hoping he doesn't make a break for it & turn up on our doorstep demanding 'his' house back.

Bit hard to tell - not clear why a demand to subscribe to the telegraph is relevant. But the money makes it look like the same one

I was at the eldest son's place a year or so ago.He was having trouble with an earth leakage breaker tripping. The reason it is tripping is another story.
I go around to the meter box, which is on one side of his house, and i notice the ground is very damp, and muddy.
Strange i thought as we are in the middle of a drought.

So i tell him he must have a water leak.
No, he said, have quick look over the 6ft paling fence.
Sure enough there are about 25 plants, about 1.5M high, in huge pots, with an elaborate watering system hanging off wires, run above the pots.

About two weeks later they all disappeared.

He has never really spoken to those neighbours in the 6 yrs he has been living there.

Drug growers and dealers seem to be everywhere these days. House out the back of with a big solar set-up on the garage roof had lights on all night and a netting cover across the driveway so no one could see past the gates.
One day we watched when 2 cops turned up and stood speaking to the resident and the other poked his nose about. Resident was obviously getting agitated at the nosey one and was positively really upset when they called up for extra cops and they were all over the place videoing everything while searching the house, cars and taking heaps of plants out of the garage.
Never heard what happened but apparently it can take a couple of years to get to court. :O
Another young bloke was clearly dealing at the top of the alleyway beside us.... cars would pull up sometimes in a line and he would appear, hand through the window and an exchange made and off the car would go and the next would pull up and the same thing happen.
Then it all stopped and I heard the cops raided a house in the same street as the above house out the back of us.
Nothing new about crop growing though as 30 odd years ago I was working on the then new blacktop east of Fitzroy when a spinifex fire started by the cockie got out of control and came over the hills towards our camp. Boss sent a grader and dozer out to cut a firebreak to save the camp (it worked) but one bloke was on his motorbike with a jerry or two strapped to the back and racing off into the bush to try and save his crop from being frizzled. Didn't work, we all stood around outside the wet mess and you could smell that distinctive smell coming over.
Anything the cops can do to stop the drug trade it's fine with me. In fact stop ALL smoking as it stinks.

It makes you wonder if the Drug Squad is smoking all the evidence? I guess it could take that long if it was big crop.
