I’m still going to knock them. Every one of them I’ve ever met has been an arrogant, narcissistic piece of ****. Perhaps that’s just the ones that travel.

Especially those 2 that toured Oz about 13 years ago in a Defender. We opened our home to them and they took huge advantage.

After reading mostly the opinion of the same people on the future of passenger liners, it is interesting that the consensus is that submarines may have a future after the flue pandemic.
Not to worry though, from what I can gather, a diesel powered sub is likely to be as effective as a solar powered one. Still, I’m sure France are grateful for the business.

The sub debacle has begun with Defence approving pay rises for the French co designing them.

The French must think we are stuupid..like the US already knows we are🤤

The bottom line is that all Aus can do is posture..we can't defend this place effectively..hence we need to suck up to the US in the hope they will help should we become threatened. The subs will be obsolete when delivered but maybe they could delay an invasion a bit..after all they will become targets and divert some assets for a while. That is if they are not broken down somewhere😞

...na not all French are like that...I've met some very nice French women. We had an epidemiology exchange program with France some years ago and had the benefit of some great cultural exchanges with the mostly female trainees...

    ..i need to pause now...😍

Yep, and I bet you were one who said steam would never replace sail.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I *am* all that - I just own it French Submarines

One thing I won’t do is take advantage of another human.

That’s the lowest act out there and so far has been my experience.

I bet the Japanese could have delivered better subs for a cheaper price, including some construction work in Adelaide, but the choice of the French seems to have been political.

I know Naff All about submarines but I have read that we could have built a V2 Collins for half the price in half the time & it would have been a reasonable machine.
I have also read the Japanese Submarine was to small (including the bunks) & the German one could not be made to have the range required.
I think part of the problem is we have a fundamentally different culture to the French which will make working together difficult.

As for the JSF we could have bought twice as many SAAB Gripen Fighters for half as much as the JSF, & they work.
Probably not enough pilots to fly that many?
