I dont land as softly any more

Painting the house as you do when you should be touring,
Tressle set up and single 6 meter planks at about 5 foot high over concrete driveway.
Painting eves (spraying), so moving along as a steady pace and hext minute I am ass up on the drive.
Felt my self mistep and tried to jump , land on feet. Ended up on my ass and head. Lucky the heads hard (only minor bleeding and a bloody sore tailbone.
Airnt as young as I was
    cheers

A few years ago I was standing on top of a 40ft sea container, I needed to get off so I jumped thinking nothing of it. I was laying on the ground in agony for quite a while.

Why I thought nothing of it was because when I was about 12 years old I had a thing for climbing onto the high roof of the house I grew up in. When I saw my dad's Land Rover (series II) pull into the driveway I would just run straight off the end of the high roof gable end without a moment to loose as if I had of got caught I would have got a belting. The roof must have been 3 times the height of a sea container.

When I explained all this to my mates after jumping off the sea container they still believed me to be an idiot
    Regards

I don't think I ever did land softly.
Over the years I have broken 4 legs (not a bad effort with only 2) 3 collar bones, several ribs, my jaw twice, my skull X 3, various other minor toes, fingers, knuckles & stuff.
    Maybe I'm just brittle? Or
maybe I did a lot of stupid things?
I do feel sorry for you, the older you get the more it hurts & the longer the recovery.

Yes done that backwards, & the first thought that enters one's head is something like..."Jeeezuz I wonder what is behind me on the Workshop floor? It's too late now to look".

    Fortunately it wasn't the Anvil.

Donkeys years ago on the same day I fell off the roof of a two story house. I landed in the hedge and while the amount of blood leaking out was impressive the actual injuries were very minor - a few small holes poked in me.
Later on that same day I fell off the bottom back step (about 5cm) bum first onto the concrete. Result. Busted tail bone and much pain for about a couple of months.
So far during this lockdown malarky I've not managed to fall of anything. I've managed to limit myself to banging my head on the underside of the car and camper.... Skull cuts tend to let out loads of blood too...
    Cheers,

well I am still alive, aches and pains where no man should have them. To add insult, I have also managed to rip a toe nail half out which was inside my sneaker, which stay on. How the bloody hell does that happen. I know should have had my steel caps on.
    cheers
