    Will the Defender UTE return?

Possible, but unlikely unless the demand rises, Say L.R.

Land Rover says it could build a new Defender ute

True. The new 300 series Toyota will be out next year with a 6 cylinder diesel engine, it is said. Why indeed.

Have Land Rover shot themselves in the foot? I have absolutely no doubt that people would buy a Defender Ute (probably with coil suspension) - if the price was right...

But unfortunately with Land Rovers push to move every model into the upper pricing - the price won't be right..

So my guess is - there is no chance in hell that LR will build a ute..

    Hi,
Hope it would have about 200mm more length in the cab than mine.
    Cheers

They may use the steel chassis from the defender sport.

Didnt the Land Rover boss say something along the lines of, who/why would buy a ute, I'm guessing Toyota sales can clearly show Land Rover exactly who buys one.

Oh thats right, thats not the market they want, Toyota on the other hand build numerous types of vehicles and models that people want.

A new Defender ute was put to bed long ago.

The market is flooded with them anyway.
No doubt it would be another flop like the Merc ute.

JLR have moved off from the commercial market, and the family wagon market.
Their target market are those that want high priced,up market vehicles, with all the whistles and bells.
