Appleton Estate 12-Year Rum is a blend of several rums aged between 12 and 18 years in American oak barrels after being distilled using small-batch copper pot stills. The rum is produced on the Appleton Estate, which sits in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica. The estate’s origins date back as far as 1655 when the English overthrew the Spanish to rule the island and Frances Dickinson, grandfather of the distillery’s founders, received the land as a reward for his role in the overthrow.
It is one of my favourites as well. Introduced to it while holidaying in Dominica (not Dominican Republic)around 20yrs ago. I usually have a bottle on my bar.

We took , by request, a couple of litres of Bundy there and there was to be rum tasting by several of the islands dignitaries . I wish I had had a camera there as they sniffed and tasted Bundy rum. Most of them did not finish their Bundy. And we then tasted a delightful assortment of Caribbean rums.

Fell asleep on the concrete used to channel the rain water into the reservoir. When we woke up, it was dark again. Lost a day. Never again.
I gave up rum decades ago. Ferocious hangovers, unexplained injuries, damaged motor vehicles, waking up in strange places, loss of friends.
