    Beautiful creek wrecked

    Hi,
We have a beautiful boundary creek running through our property and as you can see the neighbours decided to run there 4wd’s all along our side of it.

I know that no one owns the creek but surely you would not do this on property you don’t own and is fragile. It will takes years and years to recover, worse if we do get a flood it may cause a huge amount of permanent damage.

To add to the frustration, we have right of way along the boundary to get in to our property. So we don’t want to become the grumpy neighbours. I already remove their shooting targets across the creek on our side a few weeks ago and left them at the gate.

Perhaps I should go and buy some trees and plant them criss cross. Or stick some ‘regeneration’ area signs up.

Is it a defined creek? I.e. gazetted or mapped?

Either way it average they come onto your land when I assume they could have simply driven up their side?

Maybe they are not happy with not being about to shoot??

Cut some steel posts up to about 50cm and bang them into the ground so that they still stick out about 50-100cm, That will deter those vandals

Yes well I’m bot 100 percent sure where the actual boundary would be. My current understanding is that it is at the flood level. Is that the 100year flood level mark or just the average flood level for normal rain and storms.

Would love to put in some pipes to stop them

The creek is mapped, even on google maps, though I’m not sure how accurate googles mapping if for rural land. Based on this they are on the wrong side. It really gets my blood boiling.

Maybe speak to the local constabulary and play dumb, as in, "I don't know (didn't see) who it was". Then they may go and ask the neighbours if they have seen anythiing and find their vehilcles covered in mud and put 2 and 2 together.

It is certainly an act of environmentlal vandalism.

Plant a shed load of trees.
