Maybe it’s only creeks and minor rivers. Our place was originally surveyed in mid 1800s and one boundary was the middle of the river. The surveyor said that was the norm originally (at least in Qld).

The Council knew it too as made us take care of declared weeds oblong the bank. The place across the river got subdivided and 1/2 went back to crown. Same happened when we subdivided.

I think the rules may have changed over time. That's why I suggested getting a plan from the council, and then getting a surveyor to peg it out, to eliminate doubt.

I'm probably not going to be popular .... But gee's, just chat to the neighbours and ask them to look after the creek. I'm betting its there teenage kids in paddock bombs and they probably don't even realise. Whats done is done. Lets just hope further damage to be prevented.

No-one is allowed to have fun anywhere these days (even on what they think is there own property possibly). I'm sure they'll leave the area alone if you just chat to them. I certainly wouldn't be start by sending police/council around. Go and chat to them first.

There is always asswipes in 4wds digging up the fire trails around my place. They really trash the roads every winter ..... You know, the entire area is clay and leveled out mullock heaps. What they are doing is harmless (aside from the fact the trails have to be repaired each spring). All they are doing is destroying there own vehicles... Let them go. Gee's.... remember when we had paddock bombs and used to do all the things we know complain and rave/rant about. It really is some harmless fun for them (Some people are strange, my idea of fun sure isn't digging a car out of a mud hole).

Its better than people out vandlising, doing drugs etc.... There is really nothing young people are "allowed" to do any longer without complaints.

Try this. Type in your address and have a look at the cadastral boundaries.

Dunno about all of the Murray River, but at Echuca, the Vic/NSW border is on one side of the river - on Vic's side. However, it does seem the whole of the Murray along the NSW/Vic border is part of NSW.

Will certainly have a chat to them and see how they go. I can only ask that they respect the common land between us and them.

As for having fun I don’t have a problem but they can do it in on the other 230 acres of land they got.

I'm pretty certain you can find maps showing exactly where the boundary is on the relevant state government website. And I am also pretty certain that the property boundaries shown on Google Maps are taken directly from there, although they may not be up to date.

Just a thought. Did you see who actually did it?
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

Six maps is your friend also https://maps.six.nsw.gov.au/ it clearly shows the creek that runs through our property to be outside our lot boundaries.
