Thread: Beards?

I too am new to having a beard - working from home I decided to be lazy and knock out a ‘Covid 19’ beard. Could never grow one when I was with my (ex) Wife as she hated them but my new Girlfriend has encouraged me so I now have a neat trimmed beard that looks great and will be staying I think. I found the itchiness went away after a couple of weeks but it is much cooled down here than where you are, so come Summer I may rethink mine if it starts itching then. 👍

Buy a cheap haircut trimmer. You'll only use no. 2 or 3 most trims, and no. 1 when you decide to shave it off.

I've had facial hair from around '78 and 'Yes', it will stop itching. For years I used small scissors for cropping but my dear wife bought me a rechargeable, little grooming, shaver kit and find it very good. It also comes with an ear and nasal trimming attachment for when you get older although, if you grow your beard long and thick enough, it will make the ear attachment redundant. I tend to keep my beard close cropped to keep the vermin out as I have a tendency to store food scraps in it when longer. Perhaps such a person as Pedro the Swift may be able to elucidate.

Dunno much about them. I think my sister is the person alive who's seen me without one.

Mine's been there since the mid 70's. The one time it got shaved off was when our youngest was about 3, she wouldn't come near me for a week until it began to reappear. As for itching, that will go, and faster if you sop scratching it. For trimming I have a Braun rechargeable beard trimmer. Set the length you want and mow away. Easy and quick

I had a shaved head and clean chin since everyone can remember, about three years ago I noticed all my mates that had long hair for years were all going bald
So I started growing hair and beard, apart from a few trims of the beard by the missus, it’s hasn't fallen out yet and the boys are jealous as hell
I see tradesmen and apprentices from 20-25 years ago, who I worked and lived with for months at a time, don’t recognise me
I bring up a few old stories and they realise who there talking too (even a good mate who I hadn’t seen for a year or so didn’t recognise me)
And yes, it will help with your recognisability as a Land Rover owner
Every one says it suits me (hair and beard), especially if I’m in the County

Whilst playing football in the winter of ‘72, I got kicked in the jaw........couldn’t shave ,so have been the man from ironbark since.

but you do need panache and elan to carry it , ( the beard )
