I'd been meaning to post in the "what are you doing during lockdown" thread - growing a beard!

It's possibly the most productive thing I've done over the last 3 months....!

Last time I had a beard was at uni. I also had long hair. I looked kinda like a bearded Neil from The Young Ones.

Current beard growth was prompted by the local barber shutting, so I bought myself new hair clippers and buzz cut my entire head and face and waited to see which grew quickest. Face fuzz is winning so far!

Give it a tidy up with a beard trimmer every week or so.
Also gets a daily dose of beard oil to keep it soft and sexily scented, and less scratchy.
A beard comb or beard brush also keeps it tidy.

Being hirsute everywhere, the trimmer gets fitted with the wide blade once a month for an all over mow, including a tidy up of the downstairs beard.
Ah, I have seen you, I knew it!

I grew one when working in Saudi Arabia in 1989. My family was back in in Sydney.

When I got off the plane in Sydney, I went up to my wife and managed to scare her when I kissed her - she'd never seen me with a beard. It was grey and fluffy.

As an aside, the Saudis showed more respect and offered me job working directly for them (Saudi Telecom) after I grew the beard.

I wore it and then knocked on the front door of a colleague's villa in our compound where Arabs were not allowed. My colleague's daughter opened the door and screamed at the sight of an Arab at the door.

Are you 100% certain that is was the clobber that elicited the scream?

    Beards?

But, now, SWMBO & I are 400k apart & likely for some time so I have decided to give a beard another go.
Never know, people might think I'm a propper Land Rover Driver.
    So, I haven't shaved for 12 days, it's itchy & annoying.
    Does this settle down?
Also, without a barber in Doomadgee how does one tidy up a Beard or does one just go ferral?
BTW I don't want to look like a Metro whatever or whom ever it is now walking around in a Flanny with their socks over their pants!
I don't think I'm good at this beard thing.

Endless YouTube videos on the subject, strategy, care and tips! Do absolutely nothing except let it grow initial 30-60 days unless you are extremely hirsute (hair suit).

I’m protesting Covid with one also and amazingly the itching does magically stop one day.
