They should support your choices too. Its great that there is a thing like ndis but gosh, its going wrong in some areas i really hope that they process any more info really fast and get things right and you what is needed. I went self managed because its meant to be a lot easier on having those choices without the approvals with plan managers, but we will see. So far apart from my wheelchair, I've requested funds once to cover a couple wheelchair accessories. But need to do it again for bigger bills when my cars driving mods are changed as well as bathroom mods.
I would send my ndis lady your way to do some butt kicking if I could, she is really nice and proactive. I dont think they work outside of their zones though I thought I could do it, but no.
my support workers are pretty switched on, they actually have disabled family members so know whats going on. When the builder inspected the rear access was deemed to difficult and a ramp would have to be very long and take up heap of room. Also go to considerate for other family members, our back is 3 tiers, so we need access to the other level to mow the lawns, so ramplets would have to be included.
The NDIS reckons along ramp wouldnt be a problem with a electric wheel chair. I can see myself trying to be independent and having to go in via the back, gunna be fun during the rain and dark hours.. A lift is more direct access to the house. Will see.

all the best to you and Heather

    cheers, Chris
Hi Chris, tried the hooch oil, endone, tramadol, morphine patches, and other meds . taking lyrica at the moment for the nerve pains in my feet, the lightening storm in the nervous system in my feet have eased to tolerable, but the other pains are caused by muscle cramping when i stand. If you ever ever experienced the pain from a really severe muscle crap in your leg, imagine that pain within standing for a couple of minutes, It pulls me into a stoop forward position , i then start screaming , Heather rushes to my aid and gets me to a seat or to the bedroom to lay on the bed flat.
I asked the Doc about whether Botox injections might Help, going to investigate this .
    cheers, Mario

As said by so many others we feel for you Mario (and Heather). I don't understand how someone who has done so much for others can end up being treated like this. Karma gone krazy!

I'm supposing from your comments that something as simple as magnesium doesn't help with the cramps?

I used to get weekly intravenous infusions of Magnesium it didn't much. It did however set fire to the groin area and make my head feel like it was about to explode when it give a large dose instead controlled infusion..

I have patiently waited for an electric lift chair that was approved and ordered, it was to take 4-6 weeks to manufacture. So I've been waiting patiently. Heather has to assisting in lifting me up from the chair and has injured her knee again as a result. Yesterday i thought it will come any day now and it would be easier on us , Well I was wrong.
My OT has been chasing it up and this is the reply she got from the NDIA.

I just went to have a look at Mario’s file – it looks like whoever had approved and made the service booking had made a mistake and made it to the wrong company, probably mistyped a number in the provider’s NDIS number. I’ll see if I can cancel it and create a new one without needing to do LTR – will look into it today.

Damn, now probably another 4 -6 weeks of waiting

Sorry Mario, I don't get this. "4-6 weeks to manufacture". That is just stalling. You can buy lift chairs off the shop floor, Lazyboy do them. I have my Grandmother's old lift chair here and if I lived in Vic I would just deliver it to you.

From what I have read here and other places, as government departments go, the NDIS is the worst of the worst. And this is really sad as they are supposed to be there to help some of the most vulnerable in the community to maintain a quality of life and some independence.

I truely hope things improve for you and Heather both with the NDIS and relief for you condition.

The lift chair question is not a run of the mill chair, it is custom made to suit me. Ie Height from floor my long legs, my weight , it has heavy duty motors, Special padding to stop me getting pressure sores, head support height, independent motors to operate independently for functions. controls to the left side as i am left handed. all up nearly $4K

Ok, fair enough. I still would have delivered the chair I have to get you by until yours arrives.

    I just got3 emails,
1 to say the fabric chosen is out of stock now. and another 2-3 weeks delay, and nother email from the NDIS bureaucrat planner saynng.
    Hi Rachel/Heather/Mario

Oh dear, I hadn’t realised that Mobility Aids was being operated by Independence Australia.
When you emailed this morning asking if I could follow up with it and I saw that the name to the company was different, I had thought that perhaps the reason why Mobility Aids had said no service booking was created was because it was another company.

However according to the email below from Hxxxxy it looks like Mobility Aids is Independence Australia Group – Health Solutions.

I had already cancelled the service which now nullifies it.

Unfortunately I will have to do another light touch review to your plan Mario, which I had been trying to avoid with the rentals earlier this week but now we don’t have too much choice if I’m to process this ASAP. This does mean your support coordinator will have to help you to redo all your service agreements.

As soon as I get your consent to do it, I will initiate and rebuild your plan and redo the service booking again for the recliner chair.
I will also be creating another service booking for the PWC rental with Linds rehab unfortunately.

Can you confirm if you had started the process of accessing your core funding for the rental of the high-low bed? If not – I’ll also create a line item for the rental for that in your Capitals funding now too so you don’t have to touch the funding in core for it.

I'm a bit peed off to say the least.

Geez Mario, if it wasn't bad you wouldn't have any luck.
I wish there was something we could do to help.
