Money can't buy happiness, but it will lease a far better class of misery.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Only boring if you're scared of being with yourself, and it makes everything else in life so much easier to deal with.
Once you get a real sense of peace everything else is easier and more enjoyable.

And if you want to know you're really alive you can still come for a drive with me sometime. The apprentices get plenty of "Holy ****, you're crazy!" moments It is amazing (to me) what some people think will make them happyIt is amazing (to me) what some people think will make them happyIt is amazing (to me) what some people think will make them happy

Yes it is disconcerting when one hears a 4WD's tyres squeal

My dear wife, who at the time was working at Kilcoy hospital and who was late for a very important meeting in Brissie, overtook a police chase whilst in the Rangie. She later told of the shocked look on the face of the cop who, with gun drawn, was positioned around a strategic bend and waiting for an AU Falcon to appear.

She also commented about how the tyres were squealing. I think that I may have been, too!

It’s a great shed It is amazing (to me) what some people think will make them happy. It’s how I get my Zen so to speak. Quietly working on the bikes or whatever.

I saw a survey that said if you double a person's income it only makes them 10% happier IIRC.

Yep. They return to the status quo quite quickly.

It's easy enough to get a few zen moments while blasting through a twisty road on 2 wheels , though I prefer these days to get it sideways on the dirt bike.

As for J.P. , back around 15 years ago I was looking after a mechanical workshop in Broome which , among other things serviced / repaired the main hire car companies.
Got a call from one of the hire managers ( poor girl was in tears ) to say she'd had a report from her friend that 2 of the 100 series hire cars were bogged 10k down cable beach , the cars were abandoned and the tide was on it's way in ( spring tide ).

Headed down with recovery gear and a couple of mech's and met another local who was standing by, and had been there earlier when he'd seen the J.P. entourage get bogged , J.P. then got on his phone, called someone who'd come along and picked them up , never to be seen again.
We managed to get them out but cars had copped some brine.

About a week prior to this , my wife and self were in Chinatown with friends when the Lord of his lunchbox pulled in to a disabled car bay , got out and walked through Chinatown in budgie smugglers .

No sympathy from me , just a self absorbed ****wit
