I'm with QBE $825 With mods when you ring around ask if they cover you off road some will only cover you on gravel roads and don't forget to mention your mods as some will not cover you if any changes have been made even small ones
Hi all. Am looking at changing insurers & wondered who people used, how much they charged, do they cover accessories, etc. I am driving a S2 Disco ('00 model - diesel).
Any thoughts appreciated, cheers gofish![]()

My Disco 1 is bog standard appart from the 2in lift and the bullbar and i pay $655 with QBE, next cheapest was AAMI at nearly $800 and the rest after that, I.e. NRMA, TCIS, GIO, Alliance were well over $1100.
However as i have said before your age is the main factor, not to mention how much No Claim bonus you have, i have the maximum and then your location can affect the price by up to $100 easily. Matt

I would suggest you try Allianz. Defender 110 02MY with only radio mods & standard factory options. $415, max. no claim bonus, private use, garaged, and a "no drivers under 30" discount (if this applies to you). They are (obviously) substantially cheaper than anybody else but I don't know about their policy for modified vehicles.
There wasn't anything in their small print which scared me except a blanket ban on competition driving (if this applies to you). They make no reference to accidental damage "off-road" at all. I queried them when I took out the policy and was told verbally that the policy has no exclusions for off-road driving other than motosport situations. I would also presume that the insurer takes off-road capabilities into account in the make of the vehicle. Allianz does have a fairly loosely worded policy document which could work in either parties favour depending on the circumstances.
