:P
am looking for a fix....
I have just noticed that we all seem to have Jan 1970 as our AULRO join date. I think someone forgot to set the clock on their PC - maybe when migrating the website...
Anyway, I'm not complaining - makes us all feel like real old pros.

Like I said, I'm not complaining. I think it's kind of fun joining an on-line forum some 20-odd years before the internet took off, and two months before I was born.
If only I could backdate my share portfolio like that...
Yeah its cool that i have been a member for 10 years longer than i have been alive. Wasnt the joining date for each person correct when you first put the site up inc? Matt

If you want to be a member, your parents have to put your name down before you are even born.

the old board has the right dates and i havent worked out a way to bring over 4000 + of them easily yet....
FYI the only difference between forums (Bulletin Board Systems as the used to be called) from the 70's and now is they happen in real time from remote places. in the 70s/80s you had to dial up a phone number using a terminal package to get online.
On multiline syems you could have multiplayer games etc etc. messages were exchanged with other system on a dialy basis in most cases using a mailer like binkleyterm.
my first system like this ran on an atari 800xl with 64k memory and 5 floppy drives with hand made modems answering the phones.. :P I had many hundreds of users including people who rang weekly from israel, turkey eangland and the usa
there are some Bulletin Board Systems STILL running on 8 bit computers live on the net today...

Great to be amongst plenty of old timers with heaps of Rover experiences.
