It was quite common on Fraser Island,many years ago,but whether it still is I don’t know.
Cats are not found on the island,so hopefully the parrots are still there.

One Aussie animal that can outsmart cats and live alongside them . The long nose Potoroo. Fair dinkum you could make a Monty Python sketch out of that.

Good article last weekends paper about a device that squirts poison onto the cat,which the cat will lick off.
They have had huge success with it on trials,in fact 100% success rate.
But it still going take a lot of time and effort to put the slightest dent in an estimated population of 15 mil wild cats.
I have seen them on the property catching rabbits,the rabbits are not that much smaller than the cat.
