    any thoughts?

Having recently joined the ALRO its been a great time consumer for me.I am planning to buy a defender very soon, having had 3 rangies and 3 discos thought a change was in order.Problem being, what and which model. The 110 is the desired beast. Is it worth buying a well set up older vehicle and putting a td5 in for the quiet ride or finding a newer car with the td5 in place. How effectively can the older cars be soundproofed.I intend to use the car for everyday city driving and for longer trips to the bush, snow type stuff.Being a builder and keen mountain bike rider it will be a useful tool also! Have driven a series II in the uk many years ago and also taken a petrol pre county to Perth and back from Sydney, so I know how uncomfortable they are for a 6 ft plus chap like myself, but you all know once the head says you need the car you have to have one.Anybody got a td5 fender for sale soon...? Any feedback much appreciated. Thanks

If you want a TD5 Fender, buy one. Don't try to convert an older one unless you have plenty of time and money. Having said that, I know where a good Tdi is for sale here in Alice Springs. Only 100 and something thousand on the clock, white, 110 4 door.
