A serve of plastic with your water?

I am amazed how quickly we stopped drinking from taps at times. I take my water with me as I am to tight to by a bottle from coke
Tests on major brands of bottled water have found that nearly all of them contained tiny particles of plastic.
In the largest investigation of its kind, 250 bottles bought in nine different countries were examined.
Research led by journalism organisation Orb Media discovered an average of 10 plastic particles per litre, each larger than the width of a human hair.
Companies whose brands were tested told the BBC that their bottling plants were operated to the highest standards.
The tests were conducted at the State University of New York in Fredonia.

I always drink tap water too - I’m with you, I’m way too tight to buy bottled water, or most other drinks. Maybe a coffee if I don’t make one before I leave the house, but at the moment, that’s a rarity anyway.

I only drink tap water too. Not because I am a tight arse, I just don't like wasting money and this is what bottled water is.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I wonder if they’ve tested what’s in tap water???

    I’m a tight ***** too
During summer I’ll drink 2-3 litres a day whilst at work
I refill a bottle and keep it in the fridge in the van. I’ve noticed the taste of tap water varies depending on the town, even different suburbs
When your buying water or drinks from a shop you soon blow $10, I would rather put that money towards a carton of beer
At the farm I take tap water from Perth and use that for drinking water
I’ve seen dead rats, mice, birds, snakes and who knows what in the gutters and rainwater tanks so I’m not to keen on drinking from them

Good point regarding testing the tap water - I didn't read the article so no idea.

I grew up with tank water - all sorts of extras were had at times from stuff cleaned out of the gutters and the tanks - we never got sick, guess you might build up and immunity after a while...?

Since Yass water is undrinkable we have a 3000 gallon tank off the colourbond shed that we use for drinking water run through a Brita filter to remove the possum poop and dead birds. The tanks collecting from the house with 140 year old lead flashing and corrugated iron is only used for watering stuff.

    But does it matter?
Micro plastics are micro by nature and are hardly likely to affect a human.
I have swallowed amalgam fillings and I am still here.
And many drug mules seem to pass numerous condoms of drugs as long as they don't burst.

BTW The Coca Cola brand of water (Mt Franklin) is spring water from Somersby on the Central coast not tap water. They take a lot of water from the spring and that is a topic of discontent here.

I probably get through 500ml a week - I only drink water when taking my tablets. I might drink one cup of tea a week as well. I do have one cappuccino every morning.

Most of my fluid intake will be from wine and from my food.
