Some of my family live in Michigan and my cousin has a girlfriend (absolute sweetheart) who is an African American. Last time I saw her (several years ago), she told me that for as long as she can remember, they have called a certain type of white American female a 'Karen' - usually to mean a busy-body. The term has recently spread to the wider community. Will we have to change the name 'Karen' as well because it is offensive? Just asking for a friend! [biggrin]

FYI, there was a car running around Melbourne a while ago that was registered using an offensive Japanese word - the registration was pulled when VicRoads became aware of it. VicRoads has a multi-language list of offensive words.
