In the early 80's a semi with a full load of alcoholic beverages went over on the sweeping curve coming into Proserpine, from the South.
Quite a lot of the unbroken survivors were not able to be accounted for, after the cleanup!
In fact, it was quite surprising as to how many cartons did survive! Oh, so I was told.[tonguewink]

a semi lost its load of tinned beer near the NT brewery in 1975.
it was cleaned up with a bobcat and loaded into a tipper but broke down and was pushed into the brewery warehouse.
over the next few weeks the tipper remained in the warehouse awaiting repair and I dont think there were any cans left in the tray by then

In the early 60's a mate was driving city delivery for Bulimba Brewery. He took the off camber turn from Wharf St. into Adelaide St. a bit quick and the old Inter laid in its side. Many cartons of bottled beer on the road, broken and unbroken. Bobby said he knew where six cartons went. Straight into the boot of the police car that turned up.Quote:

Years ago, I think it was Ron Taylor, had a tv show, in which he would film different dive sites. I remember one episode where he found an old bottle of Scotch in the wreck of a ship, which had Scotch as part of its cargo, near Nth. Straddie.Quote:
