Qld have a disproportionate % of GST fed back to them under GST relativities, It's above 1.0.
WA have the lowest levels.
If you want to be parochial, NSW and Vic are still the powerhouses of the national economy.
NSW is worth more than 33% of the national economy, Vic 24%, Qld 19% and WA 14% based on 2019 figures

Super ModeratorIf you look at that as a percentage of the population, then WA and NSW are over-performing, QLD is on par and VIC is under-performing slightly. the +/- spread being about 5%.
I think you'd be stretching a long bow to say NSW and VIC are "powerhouses" when their "worth" to the economy is pretty on par with their population percentage. Certainly NSW out-performs VIC by a few percent, and WA out-performs NSW by a whole ~1%.
If the percentages you quoted are correct then I think it's fair to say the 4 aforementioned States are actually pulling their own weight.
