Many years ago a favorite LP was the Hard Road album by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. Peter Green penned and played one of the better songs on that. The Super natural.
Vale Peter Green,
The world is another Blues player down. I hope Peter finds peace after living in what was a trouble world for him.
Here is a link to Peter playing his version of Duster Bennett's original song... Jumpin' At Shadows (1968) Jumpin' at Shadows {live 1970} ~ Fleetwood Mac {Peter Green} - YouTube
Kind regards
Lionel

Ah! Peter Green, where do you start. Beautiful guitar tone with loads of reverb. A vibrato technique to die for. Stunningly fluid single note solos. Songs that every budding blues guitar player in the '60's tried to emulate, (and some of us still do). Composer of the ethereal "Albatross".
Not to mention "Black Magic Woman" "Man Of The World" et. al. All I can say is "Oh Well" there goes another guitar icon.
He bought the "Greeny" Les Paul for $300 equivalent in 1966 then sold it to Gary Moore ,insisting that Moore only pay what he had paid for it originally because it was going to a "good home". The guitar then went to a dealer and was bought not long ago for $2,000,000!! by Kirk Hammett from Metallica. Not sure what Peter would have thought about that.
Pour a whisky and listen to" Albatross" then" The Supernatural" then "The Same Way" then" The Green Manalishi" then" Need Your Love So Bad" then..... A man with a few personal demons finally gone but leaving an amazing musical legacy.
Peter.
Thanks Brad, got that one too! Along with all the Peter Green solo albums (original vinyl) , Whatcha Gonna Do, In From The Skies End Of The Game etc . , The Mayall albums and all the compilations like Raw Blues. Quite a collection!
Played all those Peter Green songs in blues bands in Hobart in the 70's.
Peter.
