For the money she will have to pay for a decent Prado/Pathfinder she could pick up a Good D3 which is by far the better option, Or even a low mileage D2a would out preform 4WD wise and comfort wise that a Prado/Pathfinder

You must be disappointed in your parenting skills, eh Dave?
On a serious note, I'd think the Nissan. No Toyota tax, better economy both fuel and maintenance wise.
Trout, she's a young woman with kids. She wants an appliance that just works, without foibles and specialised considerations associated with Land Rover ownership.

If she wants an appliance that just works... that counts out the pathfinder immediately...

Justin, I've personally had nothing to do with either models, but I have two friends with trouble free, reliable Pathfinders. I've never owned any model Nissan, always preferred Toyota over the former.

Like JC says,Prado all the way,and if she won't be doing many K's,a petrol is the go.

May cost a few $ more, but well worth it,and will be worth more at the other end,so not money wasted.

    Want trouble,go the D3

It's come down to a pretty bad state of affairs that you wouldn't wish a Land Rover upon your daughter.

    But it's true.
