Yeah - we have has some ripper frosts in the last few mornings. -3 Wednesday and -2 this morning.
Luckily there's not a grape on the vines otherwise I'd be looking at another bad season. We had -7 last October and it did a huge amount of damage.
It was ****IN FREEZING here this morning.
BlackBetty told me it was minus2 when I pulled up at work(6.45am)It got colder,the Merc Semi was saying minus3 at 7.30am.
Had to belive the pair of them,it was snow white everywhere.
Im going to have to start tacking the DIGI camera to work.

I was working at Katoomba railway station (altitude 3000 ft) the other day and wandering around in shorts and short-sleeved shirt, no jumper (as I usually do) and had quite a few people comment I was making them feel cold just to look at me. It wasn't cold, it was 0 degrees, damp, and foggy.Originally Posted by Ralph1Malph

Apart from the fact that we get random breath tested and a positive reading means the sack, a few years ago I did a marine survival course at TAFE. The instructor pointed out that often those that don't survive in cold water have alcohol in their blood. It is contra-indicated for cold weather.
From http://www.hoptechno.com/book41.htm
But they also say:Limit your alcohol intake because alcohol speeds up body heat loss.
....elderly persons may not be aware they are becoming cold as readily as younger people, and their bodies may not adjust to changes in temperature.![]()

Ron, years ago I was installing some freezers at the shops oppsite the station at Wentworth Falls and had a singlet, flanny shirt, sloppy joe, woolen jumper, bomber jacket with a Driza-bone over the top to keep the wind out.
It was seven o'clock in the morning and these pretty young things were walking to the station in a skimpy blouse and skirt(wish there was a headlight icon
)
Rick, with all that lot on, it's obvious you forgot your daks. No wonder you were a bit nippy around your bits.![]()

I don't own a singlet nor any flanny shirts. I don't think I own any long-sleeved shirts. Wait. I lie. The railways insisted I receive one as part of my uniform. It has never been worn. I own some jumpers that rarely get worn - except for a sleeveless one.
For non-Sydney-siders, Wentworth Falls is near Katoomba in the Blue Mountains (two stops closer to Sydney).
