I ordered some bits from Sydney Tools that were despatched yesterday, it'll be interesting to see how long it takes to arrive via Aus Post
The only thing that I have used them for is some of the Jeep stuff that they carry and will ship cheaply through Amazon Prime from the states. You need to be REALLY careful with the freight pricing before you press the buy button tough. Overall I've found their performannce about the same as Ebay vendors for what I've bought. We may have an unrealistic view of their performance in the US though. I've ordered stuff over there and by the time it bounces around five distribution centres and gets delivered its often 5 working days or 3 (sometimes) if you pay for express. Their tracking is better than Aus Post though.

Every time AP deliver something fast I get a survey asking how they went but when they are slow they don't send the survey.![]()
I may never complain about Australia Post delivery service again . Over a month ago I ordered some A/C parts from the USA for my 1984 BMW , there was two parts. the company in the US contracted a large international shipping Co to deliver . the parts were PU within a couple of days & shipped to another state to be flown to AU , about two weeks the parts were in Victoria were they sat for two weeks before the tracking showed they were on the move again every day the tracking showed a different delivery date . Then we were going out one day 7 days before the due delivery date when a van pulled up out side our house so I stopped to ask if he had a delivery for us & was told no he was just parking so we left. On returning 1/2hr later we found a large package on our driveway leaning up against the gate that leads to the back yard only about 4M from the gutter & in full view from the street( instructions were for it to be left at front door which can not be seen from the road. When I opened the box I found it was only half the order. I gave the company a couple of days to finish the delivery before contacting them & they would not tell me anything because I was not the sender, so I contacted the seller only to be told to chase it up my self. One week later I received a new tracking notification stating the the second delivery was delayed & there was no estimated delivery. I continued getting this same tracking information for another week& a half . I then contacted the shipping co again to ask were it was & why the delay to be told that I needed to pay GST , import deputy. plus another fee. I payed this fee on Tuesday this week then yesterday received the 1st tracking info since paying stating it was in Brisbane, I received the same email every hour that day & then the final one stating the delivery would be Friday by 5PM . We were home all day Thursday , the only time i left the house was to check the mail box at around 4.30PM . I found a card from the shipping Co saying they had tried to deliver my package but no one was home @ 1.30PMso had taken it to one of there agents for me to PU & I needed to go on line to find out were it was . I needed to have a Con not number to access this info which the deliver had not provided . I eventually found out the package was at our local news agency so picked up the box that looks like some one had used as a football this morning. Lucky for me the supplier had put the part in another box inside with lots of packing material around it.
This is the second time this shipping Co has delivered parts to me , the first from Craddock's , booth times were a complete disaster. My LR parts Pre GST & no customs charges from Craddock's which I paid for express shipping & was to take two days & ended up being a month. So you think AP is bad this company will never get my business again
It is cases like this that should be able to be named & shamed for all our sakes.
Your story of it not being delivered & a card left at your place for a parcel to be picked up from elsewhere seems to be commonplace. Usually the freight carrier belonging to Aust Post seems to crop up a lot. Lazy bastards!
And there was me getting in a tizz because my "new"refurbed iPhone was two days overdue in OZ, from Victoria.

Need to stick to naming and shaming AusPost in this thread.![]()
That is why I didn't name the company. I am trying to work out how to put in a complaint to the company but so far my search has come up with nothing but will keep looking . I did try ringing them but I only get a computer voice & it dose not give a choice to make a complaint.I will be sending an email to the company about this shipping Co & if ordering from O/S next time will ask if there is another shipping Co they can use. The problem with old BMW's the US & in some cases UK are the only places I can buy parts & I need to be careful with the US parts because they are for LHD vehicles , even the radiator hoses are different. I find even Repco list hoses for LHD & not RHD vehicles . I know there is always the BMW dealer but I need to sell one of my kidneys to afford them.
