We have 'bare co' over here in NZ, I am pretty sure they are in Aus too. My actual authorised dealer, Norwoods, also would get me parts through aftermarket suppliers, they would quote me the price for genuine or aftermarket.
Hello All,
Can anyone recommend a grey market or imported tractor parts supplier who at least bothers to answer messages? It does not have to be a Queensland based company.
I have contacted two grey market - imported tractor parts suppliers in Queensland for some parts for my tractor. Both companies have ignored responding to their own business' online forms. You know their main recommended form of contact.
Due to the other two mob's lack of response; I thought I would see if there are any other business who actually know what customer service actually is.
I have a Yanmar 240 D a four wheel drive diesel tractor built in the late 1970s to early 1980s. I need to replace the clutch and brakes. I can buy these parts from a couple of USA based suppliers; however, the freight costs are extortionate. That is why I thought I would try the two Queensland based companies - now I am casting my net a bit further.
Kind regards
Lionel

have you thought about going to a clutch and brake specialist and getting them relined, more often than not springs and pressure plates can also be refurbished.
cheers

If I made any recommendation I would be classed by my former colleagues as having crossed to the dark side. Grey market suppliers are responsible for keeping a lot of old junk running that should be cut up and sent back to the blast furnaces. In the used equipment game we reckoned that anything more than two models or 10 years old should go in the scrap bin not on the the used equipment lot. Keep the customers buying newer and more expensive. Don't wreck them for parts as this keeps other old rubbish running.

Absolute rubbish attitude and totally ignores the economic and social value of historical machinery. Cat and others make a fortune out of parts and repairs of older machines many of which are better built than modern equivelents..and can be fixed by the owner too..vastly reducing running costs.
Anyhow..yes look to get the frictions replaced locally or go Sparex or others. There are also regular importers of Jap car parts too who can assist..eg..by putting the part in their shipments.
Hehe, if the 10yr rule were invoked, I would be on a bicycle, oops, even my bicycle is over 10yrs old, and still like new!(shows how much I use it) None of my 3 motor vehicles, 4 motorbikes or 1 tractor are less than 10yrs old! I am a dinosaur!
I've had reasonable service from Heads Tractor Spares.
