When parking is at a premium

They obviously value the series Land Rover more than the Range Rover as it is stored well out of harms way .
Imagine if you made a mistake and brought the top storey down without taking the Range Rover out. Monday morning after a heavy weekend...

We often do the same if travelling for extended periods, put the ute on the 4 post hoist in the shed and put it right up and then park the wifes car underneath.
Pretty hard to lower it accidentally as first air pressure is required which means switching on the air compressor, then it needs two hands, one to operate the safety lock release, one to initially raise the hoist sufficiently to clear the safety locks and then the same hand to swap over to the lowering lever to drop the hoist down.
The safety locks need compressed air to release so even if someone wanted to do it maliciously it still takes knowledge on how the hoist operates.

You would need a large drip tray on the roof of the RR

Or worse still, didn't apply the handbrake properly or leave the Series in gear on the top...

There were quite a few car parks set up like this in New York on a commercial basis. I guess you could double your income on a given car park size.

    Hi,
Saw on Youtube, an in-drive garage for a huge motorhome belonging to an overly wealthy American.
The driveway surface lifted up on posts till the floor of the garage was level with the drive to exit and enter.
Lower it back into the ground and it was barely noticible.
    Cheers

When visiting Japan and Taiwan car stackers like that and much bigger were common. Oddly I am looking at one here as a consideration for a commercial development. Not cheap but probably a lot cheaper than land to provide the onsite parking needed to meet building permits requirements. It depends on the cost of land for ROI.

Or they could charge extra for the car underneath getting a "Paint Protection" coating.
