Do you have thick brick walls? You can DIY Cat 5 yourself by going under the floor. You can buy cat5 cable at Jaycar in various lengths already with plugs or make them yourself..

To me the suggestion of hard wiring is probably the most appropriate in your case.

BTW do you mean 90mbps? If so that is probably the best NBN speed you can get with current technology.

Yes 90mbps Telstra increased the speed to the highest trying to fix the problem.
No internal brick walls & low set house built on slab so can't go under the floor , there is not much room left in the ceiling due to A/C ducting & were we need to go with the cable the roof is covered with solar panels so can't remove tiles to get through there . We did not have a problem with WIFI before the NBN , Telstra has increased our speed to the fastest speed & when it works it is very good & fast. but most mornings we have no internet or home phone from around 4.30am through to about 8am.then after that we have Netflix working but can't use the computer until around 9.30am . The Netflix in the bedroom is non existent . I will just have to bite the bullet & get someone in to run the cables. I had spoke to Telstra about running fibre optic in our house from the start & they told me it would not be needed.
To add to this about 10years ago we were talked into going to cable internet from that moment on we hade no internet for 6 months until the ombudsman told Telstra to reconnect us to ADSL , we did not have any internet problems from then until we connected to the NBN. So same cable coming in from the fibre same socket on the wall.
Our security cameras work on WIFI with out any problems sending images through the brick walls from out side , even the one in the garage which is remote from the house sends a clear image . We are also on our 3rd modem , Telstra just keep sending us them telling us , THIS WILL FIX IT. I believe it is a NBN problem due to the fact we had exactly the same problem with cable.

im not here to defend telcos, just want to point out that covid has resulted in the cheaper (compared to aussie) call centers closing and this has forced them to hire comparatively expensive australian call centre staff, which impacts prices.

The offshoring model 20 years ago made financial sense. 1 on shore resource cost around 15 offshore. This is no longer the case and while it may still be marginally cheaper to offshore these functions to some jurisdictions or territories the reputational damage is immense. Even Telstra (and the banks) are rushing to ‘repatriate’ many of these functions. But unfortunately they just do not seem to care about residential customers (no profit there) only corporate or government.

But isn't it SOOOOO nice to be able to understand what is being said now instead of trying to decipher the usual Mumbai accent you had to put up with

OK , I am not an expert but have fitted Cat5 etc to my second TV with translaters .

You may have a clue from your stating that you have a WiFi security system.

Perhaps you have interference from the security system or something else,(wiFi aircon controller? or anything else WiFi)

My modem and most AFAIK have alternate frequencies that can be used to overcome interference. I share out mine so that all are not on one frequency eg phones, Ipad,Apple TV.
Too many Wifi devices on the modem will also cause it to slow down.
Do you have your first computer that has 90Mbps on a Cat5 to the modem? and all others on Wifi . Then the problem is with your Wifi NOT NBN.

Our experience with NBN in Brisbane was Optus was useless and nothing was fixed until we insisted they escalate it to the NBN and get a tech out. Whole street had the same problem.
The tech repaired our connections between the street and the house. He also changed the modem to a different channel so we were not on the default channel. The service improved dramatically.
Here in Maleny we are still on ADSL and the best we are being offered is satellite, which is ridiculous considering the Sunshine Coast is over 300,000 people.
    We have:
Had a tech repair the connections between house and street, which were over 30 years old and in bad shape.
Bought a new modem which is now the main modem.
Run Cat 5 cable to the other end of the house.
Plugged our old modem in and reset it as a wifi broadcaster.
This means we have 2 wifis with different passwords, but it works.
We also have a couple of $50 wifi boosters plugged in around the house.
It all works, but its a long way short of what was promised when the NBN was going to be all fibre, back before cost-cutting ruined it.
Still pretty Third World though. We had better internet in Thailand 15 years ago - it was 100 mbs.

    behind doesn't cover it sorry

4 weeks to get a reply from boost and haven't had a reply to my response

telstra still haven't answered at about 6 weeks to two jobs

optus, no reply as well but only 3 weeks

got a response from a small telstra reseller in 2 days, pennytel got that customers work and a thank you kindly for the service... i'll be pointing more their way if people don't need the extra bits

sadly many need options only the major players provide, me included...

and don't get me started on non exchange based redirected numbers...
