    NZ Hilux ads

Toyota is searching for New Zealand'''s most iconic Hilux | Stuff.co.nz

Have a look at the video in the article, it is a compilation of the Hilux ads that ran when I was younger...they weren't bad, they featured Barry Crump, a bit of an old time NZ legend, he wrote a few books of which I read them all, he used to be a govt deer culler, bushman etc. The ads had some good 4wd action and were quite entertaining, well for us simple folk in those days there were anyway!

Ha yes, two role models of mine when growing up! I enjoyed all of Crumpy's books. He was our real life 'crocodile dundee' sort of character!

I wonder how many vehicles they went through making the first couple of adds - late 70s Hiluxes would not have lasted the bump on those tracks driven like that - they were far from unbrakeable (like they supposedly are now).

    Toyota Bulls - YouTube

    This was my favourite!

Some were offended by "sheep shagger", but as an Ausssie I thought it was quite appropriate - and hilarious!

I don't believe that one. Cloven hooved beasts could not fasten a seatbelt, so what else is staged?

    The power of advertising eg🙄

New ones are like the old ones..ie .breakable!!

They say in advertising you id you're weakest aspect and reverse it..eg..Morris Marina bland styling becomes "flat panels easy to repair"😅

    Governments are experts at it😎
