Now that I'm commuting an hour each way to work... padstow -> chatswood and return on the M5-eastern-distributor-over-the-bridge-up-the-north-shore I see my fair share of road rage and stupidity...
... I can't believe how close people (especially buzz boxes driving those el-cheapo-crappy-cars-like-out-of-gran-turisimo) tail-gate me in my defender....
.... I may not have the acceleration!
BUT I certainly DO HAVE stopping power with discs-all-round !!!!!!

Hopefully I won't be the subject of such rage, if I was you would probably hear about me on the news (ie- I would of beanted this tosser half to death).
No I'm not a nasty person, I do get angry at boofheads who try to put there opinions to me and talk absolute bollocks. I have found in my short life that most people are ingorant and stupid, not a good combo.
It's unfortnate that the anti-4WD debate has come to this. 4WD's are hear to stay so people should get used to it, like it or lump it![]()

Horses are outside my experience. I have bull-barred a few cattle & hogs, not by choice. But, I did see a guy brought into Winton hospital who had collected a blue flyer at full hop in the windscreen. She ended up in the front seat with him and raked his guts with a toenail trying to get away. He was not in very good order but did survive. The doe didn't.Originally Posted by numpty

One of the things Ihave become since owning my D1 is more brazen.
I now now longer concern myself with hyundis or wrx or kia etc in my blind spots or tailgating.
I appreciate that in an unfortunate altercation, I should be more ok then they.![]()
Similarly, at servos I usually have to line up with the petro lads to get to the lpg bowser, I usually go on the front foot, blaming the servo for putting it there and for the hoses not being long enough, forcing me to reverse in.

Vandals should have their hands chopped off. If I caught someone interfering with my Rangie, or anything else I own for that matter, an ambulance would be required, rather than the police. Not that I would call them one.Originally Posted by p38arover

Interesting little story...
The guy I bought my Defender from (let's call him Guy 1) had a bit of a road rage incident. Another guy (Guy 2) in a rice-rocket came up to him at a set of lights claiming he cut him off and took to the Landrover with a club-lock. Smashed the rear driver's side window and put a couple of dints in both driver's side doors (the reason I got the rig at a suitably discounted price I might hasten to add). Guy 1 got out of the car and stopped Guy 2 doing any more damage then went straight to the Police.
In court Guy 2 flatly denied doing anything so he got off scott free. Hard to believe as it was unlikely Guy 1 smashed up his own car just to make a case of it.
A few weeks later Guy 1 saw Guy 2 at a market somewhere and snotted him. At least Guy 2 didn't bother pressing assault charges.
Interesting that we are all so hung up about anti-4x4 rage when there are several less commonly identified types of road rage targetting other driver profiles: nitwit, luxury car rage, pensioner rage, hoon rage, asian driver (or other drivers of foreign extraction) rage.
Not passing any sort of judgement on either party (Guy 1 may very well be reading this and know who he is) - just an interesting little story (if I was a drinker I'd take a swig now).
