Just helped a mate today order new Meyle LCAs from AF in UK. They are heavy suckers. All up with Mahle filter kit and TC oil shipping was £169 which includes GST I think.
When I ordered same LCAs in March 19 shipping and GST was £161 DHL
Pretty similar.
Some time back I purchased a variety of engine parts, and unfortunately DHL were the couriers. They attempted to coerce additional payments from me, long after i had taken delivery. Even included a selection of items slivered to another person in Qld to up the overall costs. I refused to pay & threatened legal action. Eventually desisted in their attempts to extract additional $'s.,
Yes that is the scenario I have had and others also - hence I do not use DHL.

I have ordered parts from all over the world during Corona Virus and had mixed experiences.
I ordered a Baja no pinch tyre remover tool from the US (awesome bit of kit - helps to push on dirt bikes tyres without using levers). They sent it via USPS. After 6 weeks waiting I started to chase it up. The parcel was stuck in Tokyo for weeks, then all of a sudden landed on my door step in Brisbane.
I've ordered landrover bits from Turners and John Craddocks in England - both parcels send via DHL in record time - about 8 days door to door.
Now for the biggie - I recently ordered a new R380 and an LT230 rebuild kit via Ashcroft. This was sent via DHL as well. This arrived in Australia in 5 days, but I had to pay DHL $455.00 before they would release it. Once I paid the duty fee, the 60kg package arrived that afternoon.

Just received a parcel from Australia. 4 days door to door
One thing I did recently seemed to work.
I wanted one of those deburring thread tools and saw many on Ebay from China and Taiwan.
However I thought that they would take forever to get here.
I looked on Amazon Au and there they were , a bit more expensive though. Amazon have their own planes and it arrived from the US in AFAIR 8 days with AFAIR $7.63 freight.
