    “A” - Frame

Trying to impart some Grandfatherly knowledge into one of the GC’s and found myself lacking.
i thought, someone on here is bound to know.
So we are walking along and see a tree laying on the ground. The bottom and top have been largely removed so it has left a rather interesting looking shape. It’s about 20 feet long and I couldn’t put my arms around it. Wouldn’t that be good if you could stand it up ? So I say you would need an A Frame for that. What’s an A Frame. Did my best to explain but could see it wasn’t sinking in. Looking on the web , couldn’t see anything apart from beds that open up and small cabins. Is it called something else? And is there a relationship between the height of the frame and the length of what you are trying to stand up? I’ve gone blank.
All comments gratefully received as usual.
    cheers,
    D

    Hi,
Cut enough off the trunk and they can sometimes suddenly spring back upright with the tension in the (now) twisted tap root.
    No warning, whatsoever!
    Fatalities have occurred.
    Cheers.
