Mate keep hunting you will find one, there are some crap ones, like you said, but good things come to those who wait. Have you looked on carsales.com.au and carpoint.com.au? Matt

Have you considered a defender... not trying to sway you, but I seem to remember someone on this forum saying that a 15K defender is better value than a 15K disco... just a thought

    Smile Looking for LR

There is an excellent one for sale up here on Tamborine Mountain, about 30 K's inland from Gold Coast, S/E Qld.
It is a white 1997 TDi almost in show room condition. I'm sure the funds you have would buy it.
A mate in our Rural Fire Brigade does gardening/caretaking for the folk wanting to sell. Unfortunately he does not use a computer and email. If you wish contact me with your name and phone number and I'll pass it on to him.

Take a look a some basket cases too. Sonia and I got a excellent condition 98 Tdi auto, with leather, bulbar, towbar, ABS, alloys, dual battery, spotties, roffrack and cb, for $3000 with a blown head gasket. One engine rebuild and now we have a terrific vehicle for $4000 under market price, with virtualy a new engine!
