$ 2million worth of cattle reported stolen from Murranji Station, NT.

All ear tags are RFID as this is a tracing requirement of the EC .
AMLC introduced it as mandatory about 20 year after the donkey meat substitution scandal.

Also it enables trace back to a property if hoof and mouth or bruscelosis is found in meat inspection.

The community are being asked to tell police any information they may have about the theft of 426 Brahman cross breeder cows and bulls from an agisted paddock south of Charters Towers.
The cattle, which range between two and ten years of age and from dry to calves at foot, went missing between July 2013 and March 2014.

Uncle had a problem with this on a smaller scale. Through the wrong word said to the wrong person at the pub it turned out his son was selling them to make some extra cash. The buyers knew dad would not sell so made a deal with son. Who would put them in a particular paddock next to a road where they could pick them up
