We were out on a trip in the Brindies a couple of weeks ago and I got out to move a blue tongue off the track - too late, some idiot had run over it for fun.

Starting to warm up,found this guy basking in the sun on our back deck, today.

Later on it was curled up around the compressor at the rear of the fridge which is also on the back deck.

I was only saying to SWMBO the other day strange we have had no rats around this winter,as both neighbours have chooks, and we usually have quite a number of rats and mice around.

Looks like they've had a recent feed, Scarry. They really are a beautiful creature. I do have trouble coming to grips with most folk's irrational fear of snakes and spiders.

Our resident snakies are yet to surface, but it's a tad cool here at the moment, although this one liked the light, a week or two ago. It was good to see, as it's either a newcomer, or a local that we haven't seen before, going by it's size.

Yes that one a great looker, not a mark on it.I worked out its just on 2.2M

Its quite fat all along its body, not just a lump in one place.

Anyway, its nice and cosy tonight,at the back of the fridge.

The owner never came back to collect his boot. Come to think of it he must have moved away, haven't seen him since.

I'm expecting the first Python of the season to appear soon at our place. Fortunately the chook house has been snake-proofed.

You're all lucky with your nice snakes. Even in the middle of winter I've had a couple of Browns at the back door. 1 dog to the vets - all ok thankfully.
    Cheers

    Edit:
Already said what I was going to say above.... I don't like brown snakes much and disagree that it is practical to live with them.

People have been posting quite a few snakes on our local Facebook the last month but haven't seen any at our place vet but the Water Dragons have been around the pool the last couple of weeks.

    Living with snakes

Already had to pick a couple up and relocate.
Can’t wait until it really kicks off!
