Spooky bit about some of this which clearly needs more science is micro plastics in my toothpaste

    Q day! When or IF

Do you love a great acronym?

"Q-Day is the point at which large quantum computers will be able to break encryption algorithms using multi-state qubits (quantum bits) to perform Shor's algorithm."

1994 Mr Shaw made what is still impossible as no fully functional Quantum Computer exists (yet!) It is " exponentially faster than the most efficient known classical factoring algorithm"

All current computer security is obsolete as soon as that occurs! Hack Nuclear codes, every bank account, every computer and web server in a second.

Q day sounds a bit scary IF it catches people, business and Governments with our pants down.

Oddly we know it has caught all with our private parts hidden but ready to be fully exposed! All our currently encrypted data from all listed places can and is being mirrored to back up servers known and unknown!

Once Q-day comes all existing secrets can be then read from those mirrored drives nefarious and others have already!

"Michael McLaughlin, a cybersecurity expert who has been interviewed several times for this blog on various topics. Michael was highlighting an excellent article by Chuck Brooks in Forbes on the impact that Q-Day — the day that quantum computers will have the power to “break the Internet” — will have on the global cybersecurity industry.

Michael’s post began this way: “Think of China’s spy balloon as a giant vacuum sucking up all communications in its path. Encryption protects us, right? Wrong. The Chinese government is collecting as much data as possible — both encrypted and unencrypted — because of the coming era of quantum computing.”"

On the bright side quantum computing will also allow medical and other science to proceed at light speed compared to today's speeds

Quantum tunneling is part of everyday life? It is part of Nuclear fusion. Spooky how some people say they understand and we know it

Two Beers Per day Perhaps! Was Navy Army rules- I am not sure about those airforce types

Canada's new recommendations to limit alcohol consumption from two drinks a day to two drinks a week.

    This might explain why.

    the choice bits
1- Back in 2019 -- to see where consensus was at here we asked dozens of cardiologists and epidemiologists whether light drinking was protective against coronary heart disease or not. About half thought it was. When we recently re-did the survey -- things had changed. Now only 1 in 5 thought it was good.[59]

2-How is it causing cancer? Here’s one way it can happen… Susan told us that after you have one drink, the alcohol is broken down into something called acet-aldehyde.[71] SG The acetaldehyde reacts with DNA and with proteins to basically glob onto them.
Acetaldehyde sticks to DNA, and[72] it can squish itself right in the middle of the double helix, getting all up in our DNA’s business. [73] And all this can trigger mutations in our DNA… leading to cancer cells.
SG And that's just one mechanism. There are others. Acetaldehyde can prevent those cells that are damaged from dying.
This is a problem because our body has a way to clean up damaged cells so they don't stick around and grow into tumours ... but acetaldehyde mucks this up too... And when those dud cells with messed up DNA don’t die, we can get cancer.
SG We want damaged cells to die and acetaldehyde can help inhibit that death
WZ I mean I'm imagining myself now when I go home and I go to take a beer from the fridge which I know is currently sitting in the fridge. I'm now going to be thinking of what you just said.
    SG Good.
    WZ Not for me!
So… alcohol increases our risk of getting cancer… but…. I mean … doesn’t basically everything give us cancer... what we wanted to know is how bad is it? Like is alcohol a liquid cigarette?

    Ouch for some clearly.
