    Well, I liked the idea so much that I have just purchased a Rangie handbrake as pictured ($65 from British Offroad), and it will be fitted this weekend.

    That rangie park brake conversion looks like the go, much better location.

    No it doesn't get in the way. Just wish it would work properly. It's still full of oil so will hold on gentle slopes but thgats it. Passed rego somehow

    My D130 has the handbrake on the passenger side. Only bugger for me is the reach on hill starts. Doesn't look like a difficult mod since there's already a hole for it to go in.

    I don't know about legality, I don't have any of htat for it.

    Doubt that anyone would notice except a Defender specialist.
