Thread: Well that's over for another year.

Finished work today, only the Xmas party left to endure:
I get to spend an evening with people I wouldnt have in my house in a pretentious jumped up eatery with overpriced food, an average band with max amplification, the hideous speech of thanks "you have all done very well" from the boss and the whole thing going on well past my bedtime.

Anyone picking up it's not for me, this being social thing?

Me: Sighs heavily and dons a clean shirt and shuffles out the door.

Only good thing.....3 weeks off.

One of the advantages of being self employed is that I do not have to go through this annual ritual unless I earn enough out of them. Making sure clients know I do not generally attend these functions also helps to keep the invites to a minimum which saves on the being nice when saying no. Will admit I did say yes when in the past was included in a fully paid weekend in Barcelona for me and partner
