It has been there for many years. You can go round it both ways plus the mini roundabouts within the roundabout add to the fun. The local council says it is fine. The tow truck drivers also like it and are always parked beside it due to the volume of work it generates for them

The Poms are a lot more polite on their R-A-Bs than Oz drivers. Well, they were when I was driving over there.

And why did they need to put that monstrous flyover (complete with some pretty pink paintwork to be more inclusive....) at Joondalup Dr/Wanneroo Rds????? Again a good sized roundabout would have done the job. Of course they'd then need to employ red flag men to walk cars round them but they could sack a few of their so called designers and pay them out of the wages saved.
If any department in WA needs a good clear out it's Main Roads.

Yep thats the one , never in my life have i ever seen such a ****en mess , if this is what a university degree in urban/road design comes up with then they would have better giving it to my grandson . And of course its been how many yrs in the making .

Even worse, chuck a few sandgropers in and watch the fun (and road rage) begin

I haven’t been up to the Wanneroo road Joondalup rd since they started the “upgrade”
Looks like I will be avoiding it until they’ve down graded the upgrade

As ATH says, they need to have a clean out in main roads
Maybe get rid of the design engineers and replace them with monkeys Bloody jeep drivers

Two lane entry each direction , Two lane exit each direction
Maybe even have every body do a refresher course for there drivers license and emphasis roundabout driving

I don’t even want to start on that “maze” the poms call a roundabout, what a joke🤣🤣🤣🤣

    🤣🤣🤣

Careful everyone, a member here declares himself to be a "senior main roads designer" and gets upset if any peasant criticises what they claim is first class road design. Those maze like roundabouts in Britain and Europe work quite well (mostly) because the drivers are actually watching what they're doing, indicating their intentions and not fannying around wandering about hesitantly. I've even seen cars stop in the middle of the Shenton/Marmion Ave roundabout in total confusion causing absolute mayhem.
How people can be so good at so many things yet be so absolutely useless at driving beats me. Must be the sun that does it.

There some very good Road designs in WA , so there must some competent people in Main roads . It is just some of the roundabouts that are badly designed, some that you find your self in a different lane when you haven't changed lanes , there is one at Quins Rocks like this where it starts as a 2 lane roundabout then you find you are in this extra lane making it 3 lanes with no start to it half way round that is no longer the lane you want to be in and have to do an abrupt lane change half way round the roundabout . Bad enough just trying to explain it let alone use it . Ah well if that's all we have to bitch about life cant be too bad . .
