Feeling the drive to be more feminine/masculine I can understand, or to not choose to be dominant in either, I can understand.

Dressing to suit your preference, can understand.

The rest of it - identifying as a toaster etc - that’s mental illness being normalised and that opens itself to an whole heap of potential issues in the future.

There is a biological reason why people are gay. Every foetus is concieved female. Shortly after conception the foetus receives a shot of testosterone and another dose at six weeks. These doses determine gender. If anything goes awry with either or both of these infusions, the gender becomes confused, with what is basically one mental gender and the opposite physical gender.
I have seen two kids, one of each gender, grow up gay. Even in lower primary school it was quite obvious that these kids were confused with the opposing forces within their body.
It is so very wrong of us more fortunate beings to shame, judge and call gay people names for something over which they have absolutely no control.

The great thing about this forum is that we do discuss heaps of other things besides our Landys - and I love that. As for hating - not a word I'd use and I don't hate anyone here - even those who I have disagreed with. If you only ever talked and were friends with people with similar views, it would get a bit dull. I would happily sit down and have a beer with anyone here, their opposing views are fine. I don't think this thread has even got very far out of line, just a bit of robust discussion - nothing wrong with that.

But the type of people who are offended now were also the type of people who were offended when the books were first published but then their voices were not heard where they are now.
