I had the lesser model 4 cyl Vauxhall. Bloody old oil Burners they were. Velox I think it may have been or were they the six cyls? Too long ago now.

Mine was a 1938 14hp Model J 6-cylinder. Drove it from Calamvale (Brissie) to St Marys (Sydney) unregistered and without a licence in 1964 (I was 16). Used 5 gallons of oil. When Dad and I rebuilt the engine, we had the pistons expanded and fitted Cords oil control rings. That fixed the oil burning problem.
