    SWMBO & A Curve ball.

I have just spent a week in the Curry With SWMBO.
During our various conversations it came up that she want's a new car.
I was somewhat prepared & said I would look at getting her a newer Delica D5. She has had 2 Delicas & they have proved reliable, robust & practical.
"NO!" says SWMBO, the Delica has 8 seats & I want 9! I want an LDV G10 9seat.
Now I have never heard of a LDV or a G10 or a 9seat. So I did some Google & apparently this is some Chinese thing that actually doesn't look bad, has a lot of kit & would probably suit SWMBO since she is now in the Curry & hasn't put the Delica in 4WD for 12 months.

Does anyone have any experience with LDV, a G10 or know anything about them.
The Google reviews are varied & I haven't even seen one in the flesh?
    Any info would be appreciated.
BTW As is my loved ones way she has accumulated a couple more kids & she reckons an 7-8 seater just won't cut it.
Also a new or near new LVD G10 is not much of a price difference to a good Delica D5.

Give her the D2 and a box trailer. You will then have to replace the beloved D2. Maybe slum it in a D4.
Sorry, can't help with the Chinese offering.

Company i do some work for has 3 of them doing courier deliveries. I have driven both the auto and the manual and they go like a scalled cat. The manual takes a bit to get used to as the clutch is very touchy and easy to stall but so far they have been trouble free. I did 400ks in the auto 1 day and the thing was comfy with no real issues with the seats or driving position

They seem to be well equipped as well. not sure on the type you are looking at with seats , but these have sliding doors on each side plus the rear lift up as well. Only compliant is the bloody things lock after about 1 minute inside and when doing deliveries its a pain having to unlock the doors every time , but the switch is on the door trim so not to much hassle to unlock . I always got paranoid i would get locked out so would leave the window down half way , but it never did lock me out when stopped .

I have driven far worse than those vans. Not sure of how well they would go where you are located

The Chinese bought the Leyland DAF Vans group hence LDV.

You might want to watch YouTube for John Cadogen's comments - see
LDV light commercial vehicles: Should you buy one?

Search for it. I won't link his videos owing to language used in most (all?)

In Europe they have rebranded from LDV to Maxus. So might be some information out there under this name

My brother has an 4wd, LDV 'tilly, top spec around 30 grand from memory, and has not had a problem except for ground clearance. It went OK on Moreton Island a year ago, after he'd sorted the TC out.<br>
He even recovered a Tojo 'cruiser and trailer over there, which caused no end of merriment for onlookers.
It tows his 5.5m plate ally boat reasonably well, with the installation of an I- Drive.

I've done some research for you, Paul.
They appear robust enough to cover long distances.

I almost bought a new LDV high roof van when I was looking to do a camper conversion but the big arse Sprinter I bought popped up at the same time. My research shows they are ok for the money and their reliability is ok. I also know a guy with a dual can LDV he’s had for a couple of years now and he’s had no trouble with it apart from a few premature squeaks here and there in the cabin he’s had to chase.

Not much of an achievement these days. Heck, we did it three times 50 years ago in our Hillman Hunter when a lot of it was still dirt. Four days Carnarvon to Sydney.
