If they can’t accept a current home situation they probably aren’t people to work for.
Hello All,
I had a Zoom interview today where I had to prove I was a worthy candidate for a recruitment company to represent me. Immediately before the interview was to start, our one year old Border Collie came into the study. He then proceeded to perk onto the rug that my office chair sits on.
Next thing our rag-doll cat, seeing that a French door that is normally opened was actually closed, decided that this was not right. So he proceeded to try and open it. Of course the door was directly in line with the camera!
To top this off - towards the end of the interview a courier arrived at the driveway and then they proceeded to lay on their car's horn to attract my attention.
Next time... the pets will be locked up prior to the interview!
Kind regards
Lionel

Was on a zoom call last week when a cat appeared in front on the finance director of the client who was doing his spiel. Walked back and forth and would not be chased away. All the better when their MD chipped in to let us know the finance director does not own a cat it belongs to the neighbours
Another call this loud snoring sound started resonating. Seems one participant has a dog which had laid down on the couch and gone to sleep
Better than when the partner of the person on the call walked into shot still half asleep and less dressed to make a cup of coffee
This is life as we now know it so should not be a problem
My wife has been working from home all year, all the public service bigwigs have real-life going on in the background of their online meetings. I wouldn't worry about it.
You will never top this.

Our girl is in the office most of the day, chilling out in the AC
She certainly lets us know when a courier pulls into the driveway, which is often a nuisance if on the phone at the same time.
And she is onto any rats or mice that decide to make the office or workshop home.
I was waiting for a lift near a local animal hospital the other day and a labrador's owners had brought it obviously thinking it was very sick, or old as it did seems grey and stiff and the veterinary professionals had layed out a stretcher for it in the car park, complete with towels and tried to get it to lay down on it, even pushing it, to no avail. The lab ended up walking into the clinic, which I thought was a good sign for it's health/recovery.

Our lab jumped out of the back of the D3 before I had lowered the tailgate and insisted on “marking” the corner of the building before strutting inside and then collapsing in pain when the vet finally examined him. As the vet says “these are dogs that just get on with it”.
As for zoom conferences, after several intrusions by mr 4 and mr 6, the last one being with both whom had decided clothes were optional, I now don’t turn on the camera.
Hello All,
Well, later today I have another interview with a different branch of the same recruitment company. The purpose of the event is to again judge my suitability for them to represent me in potential roles. Admittedly, the branches are in different states of Australia.
This time it is a telephone call. Yes, certain pets will be noticeable in their absences immediately prior to and during the event.
Kind regards
Lionel
Zoom calls... You open a window into your life to a stranger.
During Melb's lockdown I was having regular medical type Zoom calls. I simply added photos and used them as my background, which is easy on modern computers with a virtual green screen capability. The one that put me in an old jail cell got a giggle.
