A muscle car from the early 70s with 230 horsepower, cart springs and drums all round only has value due to nostalgia.
And once electric vehicles become the norm & the price of fuel skyrockets & becomes harder to get all the petrol guzzlers won't be wanted except for in museums.

Have you seen the prices being asked for Series Land Rovers ?
I couldn't afford most of mine at today's prices.

I guess it's a sign of getting older as you remember what vehicles 'used' to cost.

I remember looking at a secondhand Vincent Rapide at Searings Motorcycles (Bishops Stortford, UK) for GBP375 ride away........

Its not only old Holdens getting good prices - relatively new ones do OK as well as evidenced by a recent auction where the supposed last Commodore sold for $750,000.

The '''last''' Holden Commodore manufactured in Australia sells for $750,000 at auction - ABC News

Future owners could have a problem as General Motors say the last Commodore is in a Museum and this car is not the last Commodore.

However this car does have the last Vin number so as a person who has a passing interest in collectable cars I would certainly go off the Vin but then the car in the Museum does have the GM providence in claiming to be the last.

I suspect that sometime in the future this will end up in a court case to determine which is the actual last.

A lot of them take out huge loans to do it - I know a couple of young lads that owe $50K on their cars and they have only been working for a couple of years although I’m sure they’re are plenty that have Daddy’s help and never want for anything.

Then there’s a different type - we have renters across the road - 4 young lads (nice boys, quiet - drug dealers - you know the type) who have some very nice cars, I like them - they come over and chat and vice versa. Keeps them in the good books and they all have some really nice iron they drive. Old holdens.....prices!. The constant queue of customers can be annoying at times but I have told them to tell their clients to keep the noise down at nights - which they do as they don’t want to bring unwanted attention to themselves (particularly with the 4 x 4K cameras I have put the front that can read the number plates no dramas) - they know this as they asked for the footage one day from the previous night when a car crashed into one of there’s out the front - one comment was ‘****, those cameras can see everything’ - I think that helps keep them on side. Nice! Glad he’s got his head screwed on the right way - one of the young lads at work brags about his engine costing $40K in a dunny door or all things - he’s on entry level wages and has a missus and kids too and is always crying poor. Priorities are all upside down... Old holdens.....prices!
