Yes, the "pitch" is very much in vogue at the moment in government HR circles. I read something a little while back that suggested that all of the sophisticated HR methods are less effective at selecting employees than the traditional method of "that bloke sounds alright, I'll have a cup of coffee with him to make sure" which works pretty well in the real world. Unfortunately the HR droids cannot demonstrate gender, race and sex diversity to their masters when that method is used as it selects the best person for the job not the best one to fill HR quotas......
