Provided it is not something like a Series Landrover or Defender with a near vertical windscreen!
I had a look at the one in Murrumbateman this morning, two camera pods, one taking a picture from about 2.5 metres off the ground at an angle from the side of the road and one overhead the drivers position taking a picture through the windscreen. Eldest daughter tells me that they have been set up between Yass and the service centre and have been taking a toll on the p platers heading out to maccas. Apparently they can also determine if you are wearing a seatbelt, although I'm not sure what they would do with a series with lap belts only. I believe that all photos taken by the AI on board the cameras are vetted by a real person before fines are sent out.

When you’re job revolves around the phone, you need to use it when driving - not saying you should touch it, that’s instant dismissal in our company (so will be interesting to see if these new cameras catch some of our reps out) but I receive calls all day while on the road - it’s not uncommon for me to spend 6 hours of my day driving and I receive and make around 70 to 100 calls a day. My phone sits in a holder out of the way - not on the windscreen like so many have. The screen in the car tells me who’s calling and I answer it via the button on the steering wheel. I make calls using Siri and if I can’t make that stupid thing understand me I wait until I am next stopped at a job site or when getting a coffee. [emoji4][emoji106]
Yes, unlike the speed cameras I don't have a problem with them. When the speed cameras had the signs there was a noticeable effect on people's behavior particularly in town, they used to frequently set one up on the main street near our place and traffic was significantly slowed in the 50 zone. Now not so much, but I bet the fine revenue has improved. In NSW these are operated by private companies, not the government so I would imagine that the operating companies are laughing all the way to the bank.

If somebody decided to manufacture external sunvisors, such as were fitted to four out of five cars in the 60s, they could make a fortune.

100% revenue raising. Just putting an empty police car on the side of the road does more to get people to drive properly. Speed cameras are a farce and completely after the fact. It doesn't stop or deter anyone in the short term and that's supposed to be the point of safety cameras, to make the road safer. Not to document people doing unsafe things and tell them later.
I always wonder who the robots that sit in the mobile ones are though.... life of the party type people I reckon 😂
Hi,
I believe the Poms experimented with a cardboard cutout of a Bobby near a local speeding spots and slowed the traffic effectively at minimal costs.
