I must live a sheltered life because I'd never heard of him until this thread began.
I have to say that I admire the man, insomuch as he has managed to manipulate social media to satisfy his own caprices and also benefit from convincing people who watch him, that he knows what he is talking about and that he's fair dinkum.
Probably not an easy thing to do.I mean, I might be full of **** but man, I'm only a doggie doo. He's the night cart!

Yep!
Ask him about the locking centre diff on the D2!
I alerted him to the FACT that early D2s, did have locking centre diffs, just not 'user selectable' in the old fashioned RRC/D1/Defender manner, and also explained to him that some later(approx '02-03 models) had it removed completely.
You think he may even be curious to research the point? .. Of course not .. he was adamant(iin his reply) that the D2 never had diff lock at all, and only relied on traction control for off roading.
Some folks just know it all, and refuse to accept any other variance on that topic ..
Such is his expertise re landrover products.
I still enjoy his travel videos .. love the places he gets too .. but then again, same can easily be said of Ronny Dahl, 4WD24-7, Roaming the Outback(no longer producing for now), Seek Adventure .. and so many others.
His(ASPW) story telling style is particularly annoying, but quite easy to skip a few minutes(or hours) of such guff .. and just get to the specifics of the places travelled.
As for this notion that HE has got back into the landrover fold via an old RRC ... it appears that this is more of a project involving third parties .. specifically the Offroad History Museum in the UAE seem to have a vital role in HIS RRC's restoration process in the future.
So, one can pretty much surmise that some billionaire Sheik in the UAE will simply throw millions of $s at this vehicle .. and ASPW will call it 'his' project .. restoration or whatever similar machinations transpire.
As for manipulating social media for satisfying ones own 'caprices' ... king of that process HAS to be Musk! ... ASPW is barely a solitary bacteria by comparison .. let alone "doggie doo".
I'm not convinced of the argument that it's not easy to do .. years of, pretty much, inaccurate or misleading information seems to attract the easy to please crowds that have money to throw around aimlessly.
The boring old folks that seem to have real knowledge and understanding seem to attract fractions of the fame that those types do.
They reckon we live the 'Information Age' ... I'm convinced that they left out the 'mis' prefix, which more accurately reflects what many people seem to have a preference for.
