Ride on Mower frictionalf foot rest material.

Have got a Rover/MTD Rideon & the sandpaper like footrest Anti -skid material on each side needs replacing. So, any suggestion from anyone as to what to use in place of the original stuff?

Can't be glued on as spilt oil/Fuel will eat that away & back to square one again which is the problem now.

Something that needs Pop Riveting or Screwed on would be good & something that will tolerate a good grip on some up & down slope foot work & will not clog up with soil.

    Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks Vern, that sounds the business, I never knew such a thing existed. I thought the kids stayed on there by wishful thinking & not wanting to look like tools in front of their mates.

Is there such a thing as a "Skateboard Supply Store"? Maybe I may have to beat up any local skate boarders or give them a Chinese Burn if they don't spill the beans pronto but if they get away on their boards I'll be waaaaayy behind.

Yes. There’s a skate and skateboard place in the Myer Center in Rundle mall

Friend GOOGLE recommends a Hair Drier to remove old stuff to soften the adhesive.

Found plenty online & a bit of surplus could go on the now shiny seat to stop the sliding around when on a Slope so long as it doesn't stick my arse to the mower permanently. Will order some, Poste haste.

Thanks again it really sounds like it is what I was looking for.

Just clean it then paint it and add some very gritty sand to the paint while it is still wet, Job done

JEEEEEZUZ! It is another language for skateboarders. Not quite Swahili or even Eskimo. I bunged an E-mail off so let's see if "Mountain Terror" replies? It doesn't show on their Website, or not that I could see.

Thanks Trouty, & I had given that idea some thought but wondered if sand would be as useless as the OEM stuff that was fitted originally & it would wear down. Depends on how hard the particles were I guess. Will keep that in mind though.
