Just to clarify. The 90 has always had wheel nuts torqued by hand - never rattled.
I still split the lock nut key removing them last year. Ironically whilst removing them to replace with stock wheel nuts.
Years ago I had some Hurricane rims and wanted my tyres put on them, tyres purchased from the joint doing this in Ocean Grove (Surfside, highly recommended).
The boss /owner showed the young guns which adaptor to use on the balancer and told them to do the nuts up to finger tight when they put the wheels on my POS.
He then came out of the office and torqued them up by hand. I was impressed that he knew the wheels and knew what he was doing.
The nuts had new washers that I'd had made and the washer seats had been freshly dressed.
If they'd been done up with a rattle gun they could well now be tinfoil.
